Who Needs Advanced Higher Modern Studies?

How hard is the jump from Higher?
Higher Modern Studies rewards knowing the material and applying it in extended answers. Advanced Higher adds a research-methods layer: you are assessed on evaluating the methods behind evidence, not just the evidence, and the dissertation asks you to plan and sustain an argument over months rather than pages. The international comparative approach is the other change — a UK issue has to be set against another country rather than described alone.
