Privacy Policy

EduSCOT is a privacy-first website. We don’t use tracking cookies, we don’t share data with advertisers, and we keep what we collect to a minimum.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics — a privacy-first, cookie-free analytics tool. Plausible collects aggregated page views and referrers, but no personally identifiable information, no cross-site tracking, no device fingerprints.

Calculators and tools

All calculations run in your browser. Inputs are not sent to us or stored. The SAAS calculator, the benefits calculator and the UCAS tool all work entirely client-side.

The catchment checker uses the public postcodes.io API to look up your postcode. We don’t log your postcode.

Newsletter

If you sign up to our newsletter (“The School Bell”), your email address is passed to our email provider, MailerLite, which stores it so we can send you the newsletter and nothing else. We do not share email addresses with anyone outside MailerLite, we never sell lists, and unsubscribing is a one-click action in every email we send. MailerLite’s own privacy policy covers how they handle the data on their side.

Cookies

EduSCOT does not set any cookies. We don’t need to show a cookie banner because there’s nothing to consent to.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to know what data we hold about you and to have it deleted. For the newsletter, that means unsubscribing; for analytics, there’s no personal data to delete. Contact us at hello@eduscot.co.uk if you’d like to check.
